Car Hire Agreement
All vehicle rentals come with a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your obligations regarding the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements to Rent a Vehicle

Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be made easily via our website, by phone, or directly at our Guiseley office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required upon collecting your vehicle. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same state as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges will apply as necessary. Please ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level; refueling fees will be charged if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us immediately if a late return is expected. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that occur during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find complete coverage details and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial exposure. It is beneficial to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance applies. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls on you, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, off-roading, or other high-risk actions. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used beyond its intended purpose or exceed passenger and weight limits. Travel outside designated geographical areas requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Guiseley is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
